These were tidal pools which meant that they were constantly emptied and filled with sea water whenever the tides or rough weather intervened. They were overwhelmingly popular with mothers with young children as they were also very shallow and relatively safe.

The inauguration of this chute was carried out by the Minister for Tourism Mr William Isola, but I doubt whether it ever succeeded in becoming one of Gibraltar's  tourist attraction.
